What Creativity Means to Me

A creative challenge by Zahra

The Challenge

This challenge is about sharing your voice and celebrating what makes you creative. Zahra, a young artist from Oxfordshire, wants to hear from other young people about what creativity means to them.

Everyone is creative in their own way. You do not have to be good at drawing or painting to be creative. Creativity can be found in how you solve problems, the stories you tell, the games you invent, or the way you see the world differently from everyone else.

"Creativity is not just about making art. It is about expressing who you are and seeing the world in your own special way."

Your Task

Think about what creativity means to you. Then share your thoughts in whatever way feels right. You could:

  • Write a short piece about what creativity means to you
  • Create a drawing or painting that represents your creative self
  • Make a list of all the ways you are creative
  • Create a collage using images that inspire you
  • Record yourself talking about your creative ideas

Questions to Think About

These prompts might help you get started:

What makes you feel most creative?

When do your best ideas come to you?

What would you create if you could make anything?

How does being creative make you feel?

Who or what inspires your creativity?

Why Your Voice Matters

Young people have unique perspectives on the world. Your ideas, dreams, and creative thoughts are valuable. By sharing what creativity means to you, you help others understand how young people in Oxfordshire think, feel, and express themselves.

Your response might inspire another young person to explore their own creativity. It might help adults understand what matters to you. And it will add your voice to a growing collection of creative expressions from across our community.
